Welcome to Dream Catcher Tours

I am excited to introduce to you my new endeavor, Dream Catcher Tours, LLC. Most of you know that I love to travel and that passion began when I was 18 years old studying abroad in Australia. That experience truly changed my life and in my case propelled me into a career in the travel industry.

After college, I landed my dream job as an international tour guide in Europe. My title as Holiday Ambassador allowed me to travel the world while learning the valuable lessons of living a life abroad while managing a tour group. On my very first trip to Paris, I was sitting in the front of the bus nervously gripping a microphone, asking the driver what site we would see next. As I frantically studied my Lonely Planet guidebook, I informed the group of the landmarks they were seeing out the windows of the bus. It was such a thrill to share my love of travel with others and experience the iconic sites and culture together as a group.

After leading tours to several countries in Europe, I happened upon a little village in the south of The Netherlands. Situated on the German and Belgium borders, Valkenburg became my home for several years. With a castle on the hill, *gezellig restaurants and bars, and a handsome Dutch bartender who spoke great English, I did not want to leave. But eventually, I took a piece of Holland back to Chicago with me, got married to my husband Maurice on the beaches of Mexico (my other favorite place), and started Jet Set Events in Chicago in 2000. My favorite Dutch word - *gezellig translation

What started as an international tour company transformed into a corporate event planning company due to the events of 9/11.  I began planning and executing international conferences and incentive trips around the globe that led me to other parts of the world including New Zealand, Japan, and most recently Africa. I was in Zimbabwe when the pandemic began and I remember thinking to myself, if this is the last trip I take for a while, at least it was an amazing one; a real bucket list trip.

During this uncertain time, I have thought a lot about what I want to do after the pandemic. In truth, I have enjoyed the gift of time to be with my family and the opportunity to rethink my future. I’m sure we have all realized that time is precious and after being cooped up for so long, we need an adventure. I started Dream Catcher Tours to share my love of travel with you and start the adventure. I want to get back to my roots and share my destination knowledge with you. I plan on offering Mother & Daughter small group holidays as well as customized itineraries for small groups.
